Had a chance to catch up with Jefferson High coach Pat Strickland who has been advising Portland star Terrence Jones during the recruiting process.

Ever since Jones committed to Washington nearly three weeks ago, Strickland believed the McDonald's All-American forward will play for the Huskies next season.

Strickland confirmed reports Jones will sign tomorrow and believes it will be with the Huskies. He said Jones hasn't given much thought about opting for a financial aid agreement and believes Jones will sign a binding national letter of intent.

There's a rumor Jones was on the UW campus today and has signed a LOI, but Strickland gave every impression Jones has been in Portland and will sign tomorrow night at his house surrounded by his family.

I also spoke with Jones' mother Linda Maisha-Jones on Tuesday night and she gave no impression that the recruiting papers had been signed.

Here's a snippet of the interview.

(I'm hearing Jones will sign tomorrow. Is that true and if so, which team do you think he'll sign with?) "I have the utmost confidence that Terrence will get it done tomorrow night. I've been talking with him the last couple of days - with him and his mom - and he told me he'll get it done tomorrow and in my opinion, I think he'll choose Washington.

(Why?) "Kentucky is a great institution, but I just think at the end of the day Terrence will choose a situation where the guys that are coming back on the team are familiar with winning. And that's the unknown factor with Kentucky. Yeah they got blue-chip players and everything, but it's still an unknown factor that they're going to pan out on the college level."

(What was Jones thinking about since he committed to UW on April 30?)

"I just think it was a tough decision. I think it would have been tough for any kid with his talent and with the schools he had on the table. I know it don't normally happen this way, but I think with his talent he just wanted to take his time. There really was no timeline, so he wanted to take his time because his whole life and his future is depending on and riding on this crucial decision.

(Will he hand deliver the letter, fax it or hold another press conference?) "No. I don't think there's going to be a press conference. No more press conferences. I think he'll probably fax it or something like that. I think he'll fax it. I don't think he'll hand deliver it because he's going to do it at his house. He's going to do it from home so he's going to have to fax it."

(Do you think Jones is thinking about signing a financial aid agreement rather than a letter of intent?) "No. No. No. I don't think that's crossed his membrane. I think he wants to get it done tomorrow and I'm pretty sure it's going to get done tomorrow."

(Again, why do you think he'll pick Washington?) "I think Washington has a great shot at landing him because of (Lorenzo) Romar because it's close to home. I think those are contributing factors why he's going to end up at Washington."
