Report: UW recruit Terrence Jones to sign with Kentucky
Posted by Percy Allen
Not sure what to make of this story in the Albany Democrat-Herald, which notes highly-touted forward Terrence Jones has chosen Kentucky.
The article mentions Jones who led Jefferson High of Portland to a win in the first round of the 5A boys basketball playoffs on Saturday.
Nearly midway in the story, reporter Jake Rosenberg writes: "Jones, a five-star recruit who is expected to sign with the University of Kentucky for his freshman year of college next season, scored a game-high 31 points to go with four blocks."
If this is true it's the first time it's being reported. The prominent recruiting sites last reported Jones is deciding between Washington, Oregon, UCLA, Oklahoma and Kentucky.
On March 5, ESPN wrote an in-depth examination into Jones' choices and there's nothing along the lines of him choosing Kentucky.
When I spoke to him in January, Jones said he was going to wait until after his high school season before making a college choice.
Jones, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward, is ranked 13th on ESPNU's top 100 list. He's 13th in Rivals top 150 and ranked the sixth best power forward by Scout.com.
