Huskies unveil new black jerseys tomorrow
Posted by Percy Allen
You might have seen a couple of pictures on the internet before the start of the season when Isaiah Thomas uploaded pics on his Twitter account of Washington's alternative black jerseys.
For the past several weeks the team has been promoting tomorrow's big unveiling when it will wear black jerseys during the Washington State game to promote a Black Out Cancer Day at UW.
The school is encouraging fans to wear black to the game to show support for cancer awareness. All fans seated in the lower bowl will receive a black Husky t-shirt, while the first 1,000 fans into their upper bowl seats will also receive a t-shirt.
The coaches from both Washington and Washington State will also wear white sneakers as part of the 2010 Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers awareness weekend -- Friday, Jan. 29 through Sunday, Jan. 31.
Former Husky great Brandon Roy, who was chosen to this third NBA All-Star team, is expected to attend tomorrow's game. Roy has been working with the Seattle Seahawks medical staff on a treatment for his strained right hamstring.
