What do you get when you mix Terence Jones, Tony Wroten Jr, and a couple of future Stanford Cardinal players and a handful of future Division I talent ... the King Holiday Hoopfest.

Stopped by Edmundson Pavilion several times today for the marathon basketball bonanza that just concluded. The MLK showcase didn't have the star power of a year ago when 8,000 watched Franklin's Peyton Siva and Wroten of Garfield, but there were several good games.

With several Washington Huskies sitting in the front row, Jones, the 6-9 G/F at Jefferson High in Portland, managed to thrill UW fans and provide a glimpse of what he'd give the Huskies if he signs with them.

Against Federal Way, he finished with 22 points on 9-for-15 shooting, nine rebounds, eight blocks, four steals and five turnovers to lead Jefferson to a 62-58 victory.

He played the entire game and never appeared rattled. He did his best work on the defensive end where he made it nearly impossible for the Eagles to score in the middle.

Jones confirmed his final list includes: Oklahoma, Kentucky, Oregon, UW and UCLA, but not necessarily in that order.

When asked why the Huskies are on his list, he said: "Every school doesn't have a coach (Lorenzo) Romar. He's an excellent dude on and off the court."

Jones said he liked UW's family atmosphere and said he was close with Isaiah Thomas and Abdul Gaddy.

Jones said he plans to sign during the regular signing period, which begins April 14 and ends May 19.

He said he'd picked the school that's "the best for me on the court and off the court."

MORE OBSERVATIONS:

--- Bellevue's Aaron Bright, who will attend Stanford next season, solid ball handler and dangerous shooter. He's 5-11, but holds his own on the defensive end. Bright reminds me of former O'Dea star Mitch Johnson.

--- Vashon's John Gage, another future Cardinal, scored a Hoopfest high 31 points in the morning game against Kings. His outside shot is polished for a 6-9 forward, but his inside needs work.

--- Wroten, the junior guard who injured his knee playing football, wore grey warmups at the end of the Garfield bench. Rumors continue to swirl about his potential return in February. When asked, Bulldogs coach Ed Haskins told reporters: "No comment."

Wroten includes UW on his short list.

--- Federal Way senior Cole Dickerson, who signed with San Francisco, struggled at times against Jones when he tried to score in the middle. Dickerson, however, finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.

--- FW senior guard Isiah Umipig, who is headed to Cal State Fullerton, had flashes where he took over the game. He's a streaky shooter.

The game between Rainier Beach (Lonnie Pearson and Jeff Perkins) and Decatur (Jordan McCloud) featured a couple of players with lower D-1 ability. Franklin's 6-4 sophomore guard Anrio Adams also has potential to play at the next level, but today he fouled out and finished with just seven points and seven rebounds.
