Pac-10 POW: WSU's Klay Thompson
Posted by Percy Allen
The Pac-10 announced Washington State sophomore guard Klay Thompson has been named the conference's men's basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 16-22.
Here's the release.
Thompson led the Cougars to a pair of victories over Eastern Washington and IPFW last week. He averaged 30.5 points per game, accounting for 39 percent of the team's points. He also added 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in the two wins.
It's the first time Thompson has won the award.
UW's Quincy Pondexter was also nominated after he tallied 30 points and 15 rebounds, both career highs against San Jose State.
USC's Nikola Vucevic was the only other nominee. He finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds - both personal bests - for his first career double-double in a win over Loyola Marymount.
