FUN FACTS ABOUT BELMONT:

--- Since going from the NAIA to NCAA Division I in 1996, Belmont has made the third most three-point field goals in the nation.

---- This is the first meeting between Belmont and Washington.

OVERVIEW:

--- Belmont has won at least 20 games and reached postseason play five of the last six years, including three straight Atlantic Sun conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances. The Bruins went 20-13 last season , but graduated their top player Alex Renfroe, the Sun Conference Player of the Year. Belmont

--- Belmont has beaten Missouri, Cincinnati and Alabama in recent years, but gained national notoriety when it nearly upset Duke 71-70 in the 2008 NCAA tournament.S

--- Belmont graduated five accomplished seniors and half of its 14-man roster had never played a college game before Friday's 74-67 upset over Portland State on the first day of the Athletes in Action Classic.

--- G Ian Clark led the Bruins with 21 points and F Keaton Belcher added 16. Belcher, a fifth-year senior, has played in 101 consecutive games.

--- This is a total rebuilding year for Belmont. The Bruins returned just one starter F Jon House, but he did not start Friday.

PLAYER TO WATCH:
Clark displayed good athleticism against Portland State. He was 9 of 15 from the field, scoring on fast breaks and hurting the Vikings in the open court.
