Interesting Roy interview on KJR
Posted by Bob Condotta
Interesting interview on KJR-AM today by Dave Mahler with former Husky Brandon Roy, who discussed his ongoing contract negotiations with the Blazers.
You can find it here under the section for Softy.
Roy has one year left on his contract and would like a max deal (five years). He said it was "50-50'' something would get done this summer.
And frankly, he sounded a little more perturbed about it than I might have expected, answering "it's hard to say'' when asked if he feels confident that something will get done and that he feels he's done all he's needed to do to get a max deal. Hard to believe Portland wouldn't make it work and this may all be a typical part of the negotiating process, but looks like it may be interesting to watch unfold than you'd think.
