The Huskies are off the field after their Tuesday practice, held a few hours earlier than normal with school not in session yet and the game this week at 12:30 p.m.

The most notable personnel move was a somewhat remade offensive line, featuring Erik Kohler (at right) with the starting unit at left guard and Ryan Tolar moved to right guard. That means Greg Christine, who started the first two games at right guard, was moved to the second team.

So that has the first-team OL looking like this: Senio Kelemete at LT, Kohler at LG, Drew Schaefer at center, Tolar at RG and Cody Habben at RT.

The second-team OL went this way, left to right: Skyler Fancher, Christine, Mykenna Ikehara, Colin Porter and Daniel Kanczugowski.

We have access only to defensive coaches and players after practice, so we didn't get anything from UW coach Steve Sarkisian on the switch.

But obviously the Huskies have been looking for a way to get the best push up front, and Kohler is one of the rising stars of the line, regarded by some as the best high school offensive lineman in the state of California last year while playing at Oaks Christian High in Westlake Village, Calif.

He played on the line for the first time in Saturday's game, and in his first series helped lead UW down the field for a field goal.

Just as obviously, the Huskies face a particularly tough task up front this week in taking on a Nebraska team that has held 10 straight opponents under 20 points --- the best such streak in the nation.

During his appearance on the Pac-10 conference call Tuesday morning (before any of us knew of the switch) Sarkisian talked about the importance of the offensive line against the Cornhuskers.

"They do a nice job of attacking your protections with their pressures,'' Sarkisian said. "And they've got exotic pressures and they do a nice job with them to throw you off-kilt. Just when you are thinking you get the cover four match, boom, here comes the pressures you are not prepared for. So bigger than the coverages, I'm concerned about our protections and making sure we can block them up.''

IN OTHER NEWS. ...

--- TB Chris Polk again sat out, again just resting. In his place, Jesse Callier, Taz Stevenson and Demitrius Bronson took the snaps at tailback with Johri Fogerson still out with a hip flexor. Fogerson was not in uniform and did some light conditioning work.

--- There didn't appear to be any other real moves to any of the positions.

--- DT Cameron Elisara, who suffered a quad injury Saturday, practiced and said afterward he's fine, saying it was an injury that typically lasts only a couple days.

--- We now know who the team's emergency punter would be as Cody Bruns did some and special teams coach Johnny Nansen later said he would indeed be an option if needed. "Yeah, he pretty much he is the guy that will be the emergency guy,'' Nansen said. "But we also have (Erik) Folk (the team's regular kicker) if we need to.''

--- Bruns might have had the play of the practice with a fingertip grab on a slant route that he then broke for about a 70-yard TD.

--- WR James Johnson, still recovering from an ankle injury, got some work but continues to run mostly with the twos.
