Travel roster released
Posted by Bob Condotta
I've arrived at the stadium, and am in the press box, where we have been given the official travel roster.
Here is a list of the scholarship players NOT on the roster:
Anthony Boyles
DiAndre Campbell
Jamaal Kearse
Deontae Cooper
Marquis Persley
Kimo Makaula
Ben Riva
Colin Tanigawa
James Atoe
Micah Hatchie
Mike Criste
Luther Leonard
All but Boyles, Leonard, Persley and Makaula are true freshmen and all of the true freshmen are almost certainly headed to redshirt seasons.
That means 19 true freshmen have made the trip, including walk-on Evan Hudson. The other 18 are scholarship players. Certainly, not all will play today (such as Nick Montana) and some are likely still potentially headed to redshirt seasons.
But that is a heavy contingent of true freshmen who have made the trip, the most I can recall for an away game. And any of the true frosh who play today will no longer be able to redshirt (barring injury), so that will be something to keep an eye on as the game progresses.
UPDATE ---- Sorry, my first version of this listed Victor Burnett, but he is on the travel roster.
