Sunday a.m. links --- Locker throws first pitch and Butler signs
Posted by Bob Condotta
I'll try to get a few more questions-and-answers posted by tonight. For now, a few links:
--- Jake Locker threw out the first pitch at the Mariners' game last night. Here's a story and photo from GoHuskies.com (and yes, I guess it is a little strange knowing Locker is signed to the Angels and wearing a Mariners' uniform. He's not the most high-profile athlete under contract to another MLB team to wear a Mariner uniform for a night, however. Reggie Jackson famously forget his Yankees uniform before the 1979 All-Star game and wore a Mariner one for the official team picture.) The Orlando Sentinel also weighs in on Locker and his first pitch.
--- Missed this the other day, but Donald Butler signed a contract with the Chargers that includes a $650,000 signing bonus.
--- FoxSports.com has an in-depth profile of former Husky Cam Cleeland and his post-NFL battle with concussions.
--- Pre-Snap Read rates UW No. 54 in the nation this year and has an accompanying preview. While there's a couple minor mistakes some of you may notice (Tyrone Duncan left the team a couple of months ago, for instance) maybe most controversial is the list of top five Mariners of all time. No A-Rod?
--- Greg Biggins says that San Diego prep LB Aaron Wallace Jr. has narrowed his choices to UCLA, Texas A&M and UW. That his dad played at A&M, however, seems ominous for the Huskies.
--- Former Husky Joe Lobendahn was named the CFL's Defensive Player of the Week last week.
All for now.
