Monday night notes ---- live recruiting chat Tuesday at noon
Posted by Bob Condotta
We're trying something new tomorrow (Tuesday) in our continuing series of live chats, throwing two of us together --- yours truly as well as Mason Kelley --- to discuss recruiting.
Kelley is our preps coordinator and as such has a great handle on recruiting in the state and the Northwest. I'll be along to answer questions more specific to UW. We're trying this with LOI day now just nine days away. This is an overall recruiting chat, so not specific just to UW, but obviously that may be where the majority of the interest is so I'm sure we'll talk a lot about the Huskies.
I'll throw a link to it on the football blog tomorrow, but since is is a general Times chat, you'll also be able to access it on the sports front page.
IN OTHER NEWS. ...
--- Speaking of recruiting, ESPN's Greg Biggins had an item today on DT Ricky Heimuli of Salt Lake City, who is expected to visit UW this weekend, the last visits before LOI day. Heimuli says he is still deciding between Utah, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State and UW, has no leader, and won't make an announcement until signing day. With a couple other guys still listing UW, such as LB Josh Shirley, also saying they will decide on signing day, this is shaping up as potentially one of the more suspenseful signing days for UW in a while.
--- ESPN.com's Ted Miller has an interesting note on how former UW assistant Randy Hart, now an assistant at Stanford, is already helping the Cardinal in recruiting.
--- Here's the latest on the situation at Oregon.
--- Here's kind of a funny take on Mark Brunell re-emerging in the Super Bowl --- the former Husky is the backup for the Saints and held for the winning FG Sunday.
All for now.
