Wednesday links --- Polk, Johnson, Trufant named to TSN Freshman All-Pac-10 Team
Posted by Bob Condotta
The Sporting News has named its All-Pac-10 freshman team and it includes three Huskies --- RB Chris Polk, WR James Johnson and CB Desmond Trufant. Three Pac-10 players made the magazine's national All-Freshman team, though none of the Huskies.
--- LB Donald Butler was named honorable mention on SI.com's All-American Team.
--- Three writers from FoxSports.com debate whether Jake Locker made the right decision.
--- An LA-area columnist has some news and notes on the high school scene down there including that Nick Holt was at the Serra-Oaks Christian game and some thoughts on Nick Montana and Erik Kohler.
--- Nick Daschel says the debate over which conference is the best this year --- Pac-10 or SEC --- will come down to the bowl games.
--- Ted Miller has a couple of interesting notes on UCLA.
--- ESPN.com has a good look at the talk of possible expansion in the Big Ten. That has led some of you to ask if there is a thought to expand the Pac-10. New commissioner Larry Scott has said consistently it is something that will be explored but that there is nothing imminent. I haven't heard of anything to indicate there is any real seriousness to it. And one thing you always have to remember is that it has to be a total school and sports fit, not just football
All for now.
