Monday practice update
Posted by Bob Condotta
Back from UW's practice, which concluded about 5:15 or so after about a 90-minute workout at Husky Stadium.
Jake Locker basically split the reps at QB with Ronnie Fouch --- appeared to be about the normal division --- working with the No. 1 offense. Frankly, if you didn't know Locker was hurt you wouldn't have known he was hurt from watching this workout. The caveats to that are that it was a no-contact practice --- the team was in just helmets and shoulder pads and sweats/shorts --- and he didn't do any real running, just throwing and handing off.
But considering this is Monday, seemed like the kind of start to the week for a guy who will play on Saturday, though as noted earlier, some of this is also seeing how his leg reacts each day to work the day before. Keith Price worked with the scout team as Locker and Fouch handled all the duties with the main offense, as is the norm.
I didn't see Anthony Boyles get much work at cornerback but he was with the defense today. The guy who got a lot of work with the defense was Alvin Logan, who appeared to take most of the snaps with the No, 2 defense at weakside linebacker, where Cort Dennison is likely to fill in as the starter for E.J. Savannah this week. The other backup LBs were Trenton Tuiasosopo and Josh Gage, working at the other two LB slots.
Also, Everrette Thompson and De'Shon Matthews were each sitting out. UW coach Steve Sarkisian said earlier that Thompson has the flu. Matthews looked likely in the same boat though we didn't get official confirmation of that.
