Erickson high on Locker
Posted by Bob Condotta
Arizona State coach Dennis Erickson, whose team is the next opponent for the Huskies, lavished heavy praise on UW QB Jake Locker during his time on the Pac-10 Conference call today.
In fact, Erickson said that Locker "may be the best in the country, that's how much he's improved.''
Erickson has previously said Locker was about as talented a high school QB as he has ever seen --- Erickson was unemployed during Locker's senior year in 2005 and saw him play a time or two.
"He's throwing the ball so much better, so much more accurately and he's still making plays with his legs,''' Erickson said. "The run he made against Arizona Saturday night was unbelievable.''
Erickson also said that he thinks the UW coaching staff should be a candidate for any coach of the year honors that there are. He also said he's recovered from being knocked out briefly in the game against WSU Saturday.
"I was a little sore,'' he said. "It was a pretty good hit. But I'm fine now.''
ALSO. ...
Arizona coach Mike Stoops wanted nothing to do with questions about the officiating in Saturday's game. Asked at one point about his thoughts about the replay decision on the final play he said "you've seen me shake my head so why would you ask me such a question.''
Steve Sarkisian will be on the call in a few minutes and I'll have some of that later.
