Washington athletic director Scott Woodward said Monday that he has spoken to Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott and asked for a review of some of the controversial calls in Saturday's game.

Woodward said he called Scott on Sunday morning "and expressed my concerns over some calls in the game. And they are going to be proactive and review them very thoroughly. ... I'm going to sit back and hear what they have to say.''

Woodward says the two plays he wants reviewed are the two-point run by ND's Robert Hughes and the reversal of an apparent Chris Polk TD, both in the fourth quarter.

"The non-review of the two-point conversion was a mistake,'' Woodward said of a play in which some thought Hughes was down.

He said one of his biggest issues is the fact that there was a split in crews with a Pac-10 crew handling the on-field officiating and a Big East team in the replay booth.

"My concerns are about the integrity of the replay booth and it being split and going forward, how we deal with that and how do we talk about it,'' he said.

A Pac-10 media relations official said Monday that since both issues involve the Big East replay booth, any official comment regarding the replay situation --- why the two-pointer wasn't looked at --- would come from them.

Obviously, nothing about the result of the game would change based on any of this. But Woodward says he feels it's necessary to make such queries ot ensure that the officials stay on their toes. Woodward said he explained that to Scott, that he hasn't often called to ask for reviews of calls made in games but felt this game warranted it.

"There are going to be mistakes in every game,'' Woodward said. "What you try to do is get better and fix them so it doesn't happen (in the future). ... (Officiating) will continue to get better as long as we continue to question and judge what goes on. It's human nature.''

UW coach Steve Sarkisian could have called for a review of the two-point play. But he said later that since there are no replay boards at the stadium he didn't have a good view of it and whether it made senses to ask for a review. Losing an appeal costs a time out and UW had just one left at that point --- UW ended up not using it but at the time thought it might need it trailing by three with 1:20 remaining.

"I think he made the right decision,'' Woodward said.
