Position preview --- special teams

T-minus two hours to the first drill of fall camp as I write this, so I'd better hurry up and get to the last position preview --- this one on the special teams.
According to Coach Sark's blog, this was an area the team focused on during meetings this morning, with apparently, uh, blazing results.
PROJECTED PRE-CAMP DEPTH CHART
Starter --- Erik Folk, So.
Backup --- Eric Guttrop, So.
PUNTER
Starter --- Will Mahan, Jr.
Backup --- Kiel Rasp, So.
LONG SNAPPER
Starter --- Danny Morovick, Sr.
HOLDER
Starter --- Ronnie Fouch, So.
KICKOFF RETURNER
Starters --- Jordan Polk, So., and Quinton Richardson, So.
PUNT RETURNER
Starter --- Devin Aguilar, So.
Backup --- Cody Bruns, So.
BIGGEST QUESTION? Can Folk and Mahan solidify the kicking positions?
Like every other part of the team a year ago, this position grouping was a struggle, and the sprinig yielded mixed results. Folk shows a strong leg, but he struggled with his accuracy, likely due in part to really not having kicked for most of his first two years at UW while battling injuires. If Folk continues to struggle, UW will have to look to Guttorp, a walk-on, who is the only other PK on the roster at the moment. Or maybe to Mahan, a JC transfer who is fully expected to win the job as punter but has a place kicking background. Obviously, the best-case scenario is Folk gets it straightened out.
The snapping and holding jobs seem in good shape --- Morovick has been one of the more consistent players for UW the last few years as there haven't been many problems in that area.
The return spots are far from cemented as some of the newcomers are sure to get a look, as well. UW wasn't real good in the return game last year, but the potential seems there for improvement.
COMFORT LEVEL (On a scale of 1, which is the most comfortable, to 10, the least). 8. How well you view this overall grouping is usually largely predicated on how well the two kickers perform --- and we don't have much to go on there yet other than Folk's inconsistent spring.
Everything else shows potential to at least be pretty solid.
