Just 14 days untl the Huskies hit the practice field for the first time. ....
--- But first this week comes Pac-10 media day on Thursday in Los Angeles, the highlight of which is the unveiling of the pre-season media poll. Nick Daschel of Buster Sports looks at what the recent history of the poll reveals --- including that UW is often overvalued, finishing, on average, almost a full spot behind where predicted over both the past five years and the past 10. Interestingly, however, he finds Cal the most overrated team during the past five years.
--- Devils Digest offers this prediction, with USC on top and UW ninth.
--- A writer for the Examiner.com concludes that Jake Locker is the best QB in the Pac-10.
--- And here's a really good preview of LSU, UW's first opponent on Sept. 5, from Rivals.com. The Tigers were picked to finish second in the SEC West last week.
All for now.
