Even for those who follow recruiting avidly, the rapid-fire events of the last 10 days --- Jake Heaps leaving, Nick Montana and a trio of other guys coming --- were enough to leave your head spinning.

So seems like a good time to review what UW has landed so far for its Class of 2010, the first full class being assembled by Steve Sarkisian.

The four commitments since Tuesday give the Huskies 11 solid verbals.

None (Alejandro Maldonado of Colton, Calif., was earlier listed as a solid commit but now is a soft verbal, at best, from all the various sites, and his comments indicate he probably should be viewed as completely wide open).

So far, UW is doing an especially nice job lining up some skill position guys and locking up many of the top recruits in the state. In fact, the date bases at Rivals.com and Scout.com don't show UW with any other offers out to in-state players and it's unclear if any others are to come anytime soon.

While the Huskies have just 12 scholarship seniors for next season --- and by the way, the school is again listing players on its roster solely by athletic eligibility, making it easier to figure out that sort of thing --- all indications are they will take pretty close to a full class, if not a full 25, and figure out how to make it work later.

Quarterback was obviously a huge need for this class, in part because it's always important to get a good one. But with having just three on scholarship for 2009, the Huskies had a particular need to get one. That's obviously filled.

As for other obvious needs now, both sides of the line may be the most glaring. Indications are that UW will take 4-5 OLs and you'd think they'll try to get close that many DLs. How well the Huskies can fill the lines on both sides may ultimately determine just how high this class is ranked. It's in the top 10 right now, and Montana gives the Huskies a real highlight commit. But UW now needs to fill up the lines to make this a truly elite class.

Another RB seems like a priority, as well, maybe one who is more of a speed back. And with four senior linebackers, two of whom figure to start, that position also seems like a logical spot to sign a few more guys.

One or two of the WRs could end up in the secondary, so that spot may not be as light as it appears right now (the Huskies also have just one scholarship senior in the secondary so getting numbers there isn't a real need for this class).

That UW went hard after Maldonado indicates they are intent on getting a kicker in this class. Given that snapper Danny Morovick is also a senior, they might look to get one of those, as well.
