O'Dea High fullback Zach Fogerson, the earliest commit in UW history when he gave the word to Husky coaches last fall while still a junior in high school, admitted that a recent offer from Michigan was pretty enticing and let him know there was still a lot of interest from other schools in his services.

So when he talked with a reporter from Scout.com earlier this week, he said he no longer considered himself 100 percent committed to UW and planned to take some trips, possibly all five that are allowed.

But Thursday night, Fogerson said he considers himself again a fully committed Husky, saying a talk with UW coach Steve Sarkisian in the wake of that story and the Michigan offer convinced him anew that Washington is where he wants to be.

"He definitely changed my mind about if I was going to do anything,'' Fogerson said tonight of his talk with Sarkisian.

"Right now, I'm definitely still a Dawg.''

Fogerson, listed as the No. 2 fullback in the country by Scout.com, said he's unlikely to take any recruiting visits other than to UW.

"I talked to coach Sark about that and he asked me 'are you coming to Washington?' And I said 'I am,''' Fogerson said. "And he said as a coach, if you are just taking trips just to go, don't waste their time. I talked to (O'Dea High) coach (Monte) Kohler and he said the same thing. So I'm probably not going to take any trips.''

Fogerson said his older brother, Johri, who will be a sophomore safety for the Huskies this fall, also heard about the story earlier in the week and quizzed him on it.

"He was like 'what are you doing?''' Zach Fogerson said. "He wants me to come (to UW). At the same time, he said to do what you think is best. I've been with him my whole life and I don't plan on changing that. He was a big factor in me choosing Washington.''

So with his college future apparently again settled, Fogerson can continue to go about preparing for his senior year at O'Dea. Listed at 6-1-1/2 and 225 pounds by Scout.com, he said he currently weighs about 212-215. "Working on my speed, those types of things,'' he said of the weight loss.

That could also play into his future at UW.

Fogerson said that while he is listed as a fullback, UW coaches have talked about him being "a hybrid back. ... they could use me in a lot of different ways. I could be a true fullback or back there as a single back or (in the) shot gun or anything because I'm athletic and I can move in open space.''
