Player of the game: West Virginia forward Kevin Jones scored 13 of his game-high 18 points in the second half, when the Mountaineers took control of the game. He converted 7 of 12 field goals, including 3 of 4 three-pointers. Jones also collected eight rebounds, which tied for game-high honors.
Key to the game: The Mountaineers out-rebounded the Huskies 49-29. They had 23 offensive rebounds for 17 second-chance points, while UW had none.
Turning point: Washington had a 37-36 lead with 15:54 remaining when West Virginia switched to a 2-3 zone that sparked an 11-1 run. The Huskies cut the deficit to six (47-41), but never got any closer.
