Bail for Andru Pulu, a University of Washington football player suspected of assault, was set at $30,000 Wednesday by a King County District Court judge.
Pulu turned himself in to Seattle police Tuesday morning and was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault, stemming from a report that he assaulted a man at an off-campus party on March 7.
A judge found probable cause to hold Pulu on investigation of second-degree assault.
A defense request that Pulu be released on personal recognizance was denied. In addition to setting bail, the judge ordered Pulu to avoid contact with the alleged victim and any witnesses. If Pulu makes bail he must abide by a court-ordered curfew, reside with his parents and abstain from using drugs or alcohol or possessing firearms, according to court paperwork.
Pulu, a freshman defensive end from Federal Way, was suspended from the team indefinitely last week by Huskies coach Steve Sarkisian.
