Washington climbed five spots, to No. 17, in The Associated Press men's college basketball rankings released Monday.
The Huskies moved up three spots, to No. 16, in the ESPN/USA Today rankings.
Washington is the only Pac-10 team that is ranked among the top 25.
Texas Tech, which beat Washington, is ranked 20th and 24th. Georgetown, which also beat the Huskies, is 13th in each poll.
USC, which has won six straight games, moved a little closer to being ranked. The Trojans received 27 votes from college basketball writers. California received seven votes.
It's conceivable the Huskies will not face another ranked team in the regular season.
Gonzaga fell out of the AP rankings, but the Bulldogs are 22nd in the ESPN/USAToday poll.
