Player of the game
Washington quarterback Jake Locker put all of his talents on display, winning the first Apple Cup of his career, throwing for 196 yards and rushing for a season-high 94.
But Locker has to share this one with the entire UW defense, which pitched the first shutout for the Huskies since 1997 and UW's first in the Apple Cup since 1964.
Huskies linebacker Mason Foster made 10 solo tackles and intercepted a pass.
WSU player
of the game
Mike Ledgerwood, a sophomore linebacker, made 14 tackles, 10 of them solo.
Play of the game
Washington's first touchdown was also the Huskies' longest TD pass of the year as Locker faked a handoff to Chris Polk, then stepped up in the pocket and hit a streaking Jermaine Kearse in the end zone for a 50-yard score. That put UW ahead 10-0 with 12:41 to play in the second quarter.
Turning point
After the Cougars went three-and-out on their first drive of the third quarter, the Huskies drove 75 yards, capped by a 1-yard plunge by Polk. That put UW ahead 20-0 with 6:11 to play in the third quarter and pretty much ended the suspense.
