• MSU was a consensus pick to finish fourth in the SEC's West Division this season after losing three starters from last season's team. MSU finished one place better, at 9-7, behind LSU and Auburn.
• This is the sixth trip the NCAA tournament for MSU in the past eight years, including four in a row from 2002-2005. MSU won its first-round games four times but didn't advance to the Sweet 16 any of those seasons.
• MSU has won at least 21 games seven of the past eight years.
• Stansbury is the winningest coach in MSU history at 231-127.
