What happened: UW held one practice at Husky Stadium, putting on shoulder pads for the first time this season, though still in shorts with full pads and contact not allowed until Friday.
Fouch to play?: UW coach Tyrone Willingham said this week that he would like to find a way to get backup QB Ronnie Fouch some playing time this season. Willingham said it would allow starter Jake Locker "to get some rest and put him [Fouch] in a more advantageous position" for the future.
"They've told me a little bit of that," Fouch said. "They just want to see how camp goes, how ready I am, and take it from there."
The main thing Fouch may need to show UW coaches is improved accuracy after he struggled in the spring.
Fouch said he spent the summer working on a faster release and his footwork.
"A lot of times I was taking too big a step when I throw, so it's just keeping my base and getting more power on my throws," he said.
Another night game for Huskies: The school announced Wednesday that the Sept. 27 home game against Stanford will kick off at 7 p.m. so that it can be televised on FSN Northwest and Fox College Sports. UW has five games set for kickoffs of 4 p.m. or later. Five games remain without TV or kickoff times set.
What's next: Another practice in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts at Husky Stadium is on tap today.
