The University of Washington's varsity eight-oared men's crew practices in the early morning light on south Lake Union as the Space Needle rises in the background. Washington will face crews from Poland's national team and also the U.S. Naval Academy in the Windermere Cup along Montlake Cut in conjunction with the opening day of boating season.
The Washington men's varsity eight, practicing in the early morning on South Lake Union, will face Poland's under-23 national team and the U.S. Naval Academy today in the Windermere Cup, the annual event that marks the opening of boating season.
