10 great Apple Cup quarterback performances

Washington

1. Cody Pickett, 2001: Pickett threw for 371 yards, most in the history of the series, completing 25 of 38 passes and a touchdown, leading UW to an upset win.

2. Dennis Fitzpatrick, 1974: Ran for 249 yards, most ever by a Huskies quarterback.

3. Don Heinrich, 1950: The UW defense let WSU score a late touchdown so Heinrich could break a national record for completions in a season. He was 17 for 28 for 275 yards and two TDs.

4. Tom Flick, 1980: In a game UW had to win to get to the Rose Bowl, the Huskies fell behind 14-0 before Flick led a comeback. He completed 20 of 32 passes for 311 yards and three TDs.

5. Marques Tuiasosopo, 2000: In another game UW had to win to get to the Rose Bowl, Tuiasosopo threw three TDs in the first half in leading a 51-3 rout.

Washington State

1. Drew Bledsoe, 1992: Was white hot in the "Snow Bowl," completing 18 of 30 passes for 260 yards and two TDs.

2. Ryan Leaf, 1997: Passed for 358 yards and two TDs as Cougars beat UW in Seattle to clinch a Rose Bowl berth.

3. Alex Brink, 2005: Passed for 283 yards, completing 21 of 35 with two TDs and no picks, including the game-winning pass to Trandon Harvey with 1:20 to play.

4. Clete Casper, 1982: Passed for only 44 yards, but had a key TD in the third quarter, leading the greatest upset in the modern history of the game.

5. Jack Thompson, 1976: The only QB on this list not to win, but was 24 of 42 for 311 yards and five touchdowns — most in the history of the series — in a 51-32 defeat.
