Star of the game: Oregon State's Alexis Serna, the former Groza Award winner, toed five straight field goals, the first a 51-yarder to open the scoring. Serna was a perfect 18 for 18 against the Huskies in his career.
Play of the game: With OSU holding a 6-0 second-quarter lead, the Beavers' Gerard Lawson blocked Jared Ballman's punt from the UW 20 and linebacker Dennis Christopher ran it 7 yards for a score, upping the spread to 13-0.
Huskies highlight: Washington made it close with two fourth-quarter touchdowns after falling behind 29-10.
Huskies lowlight: Quarterback Jake Locker was taken to a hospital in an ambulance with 6:18 left in the second quarter and returned to the field late in the fourth quarter wearing a neck brace. UW coach Ty Willingham said Locker had a sprained neck and will be re-examined in Seattle today.
Injuries: Locker (neck and head), severity undetermined.
Next week: California at Husky Stadium, 12:30 p.m.
