A look at UW quarterback history
Huskies have had some good ones since 1970, but none who have started four years, as Locker could.
Sonny Sixkiller
The last UW quarterback to start the first game of his career, Sixkiller started all 11 games as a sophomore in 1970 in an era when freshmen were ineligible. He played in a few freshman games in 1969.
Warren Moon
After one year at a junior college, Moon became the starter midway through his sophomore season in 1975. He started 29 games in three years.
Steve Pelluer
Became the starter in 1981 as a sophomore and started 30 games.
Chris Chandler
Became the starter late in the 1985 season as a redshirt sophomore and started 27 games.
Cary Conklin
Played in six games as a true freshman in 1986, but all off the bench. Didn't make his first start until his junior season in 1988, and started 23 games his final two years.
Mark Brunell
Became the starter as a redshirt sophomore in 1990 and started 19 games.

Billy Joe Hobert
Became the starter as a sophomore in 1991 after an injury to Mark Brunell; played in five games the previous season.
Damon Huard
Became the starter as a redshirt sophomore in 1993 and started 31 games.
Brock Huard
In what is might be the closest comparison to Jake Locker, became the full-time starter five games into his redshirt freshman year in 1996 and started 30 games over the next three seasons.
Marques Tuiasosopo
Started one game as a true freshman in 1997 — the only true frosh to ever start a game at QB for Washington — and two more as a sophomore in 1998 before becoming the full-time QB in 1999.
Cody Pickett
Pickett sat for two years behind Tuiasosopo before emerging as the starter as a redshirt sophomore in 2001. He eventually started 36 games, the most in school history at QB (one of 21 school records he holds).
Isaiah Stanback
After spending a year as a receiver and another as a backup, became the full-time starter as a junior in 2005. Started 19 games at quarterback.
