What happened: Huskies held one full-pads practice in the afternoon for about 2 ½ hours, a session UW coach Tyrone Willingham said was one of the lengthier workouts of fall camp.

Gold standard: Senior WR Corey Williams wore the gold jersey for the third straight day, symbolizing his continuing standout performances in practice.

Feel the heat: The Huskies won't really begin preparing specifically for Syracuse, their opening opponent Aug. 31, for a few more days. But practicing in hot weather like Tuesday's will help ready the team for what likely awaits in the Carrier Dome, which is notorious for not being air conditioned, something Willingham remembers from playing there in 2003 with Notre Dame. "Bring your personal fan," Willingham joked to reporters Tuesday.

Injury report: DT Wilson Afoa and CB Byron Davenport continue to be limited. Davenport has been slowed for a week while rehabbing a hamstring injury, which could impact his ability to be ready for the opener as he's trying to learn a new defense and has not played in a game since the 2005 season. "Obviously he needs the work," Willingham said. "Having him miss is not a good thing for him or the team." On the plus side, PK Erik Folk has done significantly more the last few days in shaking off back spasms and might be on the road to recovery.

What's next: Another set of two-a-days.
