Tuesday, March 14, 2006 - Page updated at 12:46 AM Oregon guard Brooks suspended for the flagrant foulSeattle Times staff reporter Oregon point guard Aaron Brooks has been suspended by the school for two additional games —including next year's contest against Washington in Seattle— for the flagrant foul he committed against Huskies guard Ryan Appleby on Thursday. Brooks, a junior and a graduate of Franklin High School, hit Appleby in the face with a forearm with 10 minutes left in the first half of the Pac-10 tournament game against the Huskies. He was thrown out for what was deemed an "act of fighting'' and was suspended for Oregon's game the following night against Cal. Oregon athletic director Bill Moos announced today that the school decided to take additional action, and that Brooks will be suspended for Oregon's first game of next season and the game against the Huskies in Seattle on Jan. 25, 2007.
