Both the public and professional judges were firm about the best house in this year's Seattle Street of Dreams, anointing a contemporary lodge their favorite.
The judges and visitors to the home tour voted the Urban Lodge the best in show, with its vaulted ceilings, open floor plan, a four-car garage and an outdoor entertainment area.
Real-estate agents also admired the Urban Lodge, voting it the most livable home, but chose the Craftsman-style Copper Falls, with its entryway waterfall and five fireplaces, as their favorite.
The Seattle Street of Dreams, which ended Sunday, showcases luxury homes to the public, outfitting them with the latest home technology, high-end décor and extensive landscaping. The five homes, priced up to $2 million each, are still for sale.
This year's Seattle Street of Dreams homes also were Built Green certified, with a minimum rating of three stars. The certification process requires builders to meet environmentally friendly standards that are rated from one to five stars.
The event raised $72,500 for the Children's Home Society of Washington and will fund one or two wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, said show President John Heller.
