Times garden writers to speak at flower show

The 2007 Northwest Flower & Garden Show opens today, featuring 25 full-size display gardens, free seminars, workshops and shopping.
Valerie Easton, Mary Robson and Phil Wood, who write about gardening and landscaping for The Seattle Times, will be among the featured speakers.
Easton will give a slide-show talk on her new book, "Exploring Essential Garden Patterns," at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Rainier Room, then sign copies afterward.
Robson will talk about "Hort Heads," a humorous look at gardeners' personality traits, at 1 p.m. Friday in the Rainier Room.
She'll also discuss finding and growing the best landscape trees for small gardens at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Rainier Room.
Wood will talk about Mediterranean gardening in the Northwest at 1:30 p.m. today in the Hood Room.
