PORTLAND — It wasn't any better 24 hours later for the Seattle Thunderbirds.
The Portland Winterhawks downed the T-birds 5-3 Saturday night in a Western Hockey League game, one day after rallying for a 5-4 win over Seattle in Kent.
Spencer Bennett scored twice for Portland, which outshot Seattle 47-26.
Calvin Pickard stopped 42 shots Seattle, which fell behind 3-1 and never led.
Everett rolls on road
Steve Harper and Jay McGrath each scored a pair of goals, leading visiting Everett to a 6-1 victory over Tri-City in Kennewick.
McGrath scored the game's first two goals, his first two of the season, in the opening period.
Kent Simpson stopped 36 shots for Everett, which was outshot by the Americans 37-32.
