T-birds' rally falls short, lose to Kelowna 7-3

KELOWNA, B.C. — Colin Long and Jamie Benn each had a goal and three assists as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-3 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.
Lucas Bloodoff scored two goals and Stepan Novotny, Dylan Hood and Evan Bloodoff also scored for Kelowna (10-7-0-0), which led 2-0 after the first period and 4-2 after the second, but only after Seattle rallied to tie it at 2.
For Seattle (4-10-0-1), Gregg Scott and Jim O'Brien scored back-to-back goals three minutes apart in the second, and Prab Rai added another. The T-birds had won their past two.
Jacob DeSerres turned aside 21 shots for the T-birds.
