SPOKANE — The visiting Everett Silvertips lost 4-1 to Spokane to fall two games behind in their Western Hockey League first-round playoff series.
The Chiefs scored goals in the first and second periods and two more in the third to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The teams play Game 3 at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Everett.
The Silvertips' only goal, at 14:36 of the final period, was scored by wing Clayton Bauer. Everett was 0 for 3 in power-play opportunities and Spokane was 1 for 5.
Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving saved 41 of 45 shots, while the Chiefs' Dustin Tokarski saved 20 of 21 shots.
