Chilliwack hands defeat to Silvertips
CHILLIWACK, B.C. -- Chilliwack scored four power-play goals en route to a 5-1 thrashing of the Everett Silvertips.
Everett (39-29-0-3) will face Spokane in the first round of the Western Hockey League playoffs.
The Bruins coasted to a 5-0 lead behind right-wing Evan Pighin's two goals and one assist. Mark Santorelli added three assists. Cody Smuk, David Robinson and Nick Holden also scored for Chilliwack (28-34-4-5).
Zack Dailey scored Everett's lone goal in the third period.
The Bruins' Mark Friesen stopped 26 of 27 shots for his second straight victory, and Everett's Shayne Barrie stopped 38 of 43 shots.
Chilliwack converted on four of 11 power plays, and Everett was 0 for 6.
