EVERETT — Adam Hughesman broke a third-period tie and Tri-City went on to beat the Everett Silvertips 3-1 in Western Hockey League action Wednesday night.
The Silvertips were in a 1-1 tie through two periods thanks to 30 saves by Irving Leland, but Leland couldn't stop Hughesman at 4:08 in the third, and the Americans added an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Leland finished with 44 saves for Everett, which got its lone goal from Zack Dailey. It was Dailey's sixth goal of the season.
