EVERETT — Special-teams play powered the Regina Pats to a 3-0 victory over the Everett Silvertips in Western Hockey League action Friday night at Comcast Arena.

Everett (14-13) dropped its second straight game but remained in third place in the U.S. Division standings.

Regina (19-11) scored twice in the second period to take control of the game. Center Troy Ofukany scored a power-play goal less than two minutes into the period, and teammate Cody Gross scored with 20 seconds left in the frame for a 2-0 lead. Jared Jagow scored a short-handed tally at 17:30 of the third period to complete the scoring.

The Silvertips were 0 for 4 with the man advantage.
