T-birds clobber Moose Jaw

Thunderbirds

MOOSE JAW, Saskatchewan — Tyler Metcalfe and Bud Holloway each had a goal and an assist in the second period to help the Seattle Thunderbirds down Moose Jaw 5-1 last night.

Derek Couture, Chris Durand and Yashar Farmanara also scored for Seattle, which outshot Moose Jaw 49-15.

Stuart Kerr scored the goal for the Warriors, who had a season-high three-game winning streak snapped. It was the first loss for coach Steve Young, who replaced the fired Parry Shockey last week.

Bryan Bridges made 14 saves for Seattle to post his league-leading 18th victory. The T-birds (21-8-0-1) lead the U.S. Division.
