Wednesday's boys HS hoops highlights

Here is a look back at the boys high-school basketball action from Wednesday night.

Tre'Vaunte Williams and Tucker Haymond were too much for Inglemoor Wednesday night, leading sixth-ranked Garfield to a 93-60 KingCo 4A boys basketball victory at Garfield.

Haymond, a 6-foot-5 junior wing, had 25 points, eight rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists, and made four three-pointers for the Bulldogs.

Williams, a 6-4 junior wing, had 26 points on 12-of-14 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds for Crown Division-leading Garfield (13-5 overall, 11-2 league).

Other highlights

-- Skyline (17-3, 12-1), ranked third in the state, handled rival Eastlake 66-47 in KingCo 4A behind Nick Kassuba's game-high 20 points. The Crest Division-leading Spartans have won nine straight.

-- Unbeaten Mountlake Terrace (19-0, 15-0), ranked third in Class 3A, rolled past Meadowdale 72-36 in the Hawks' next-to-last WesCo 3A regular-season game. Blake Fernandez's 15 points led four Hawks in double figures.

-- Lake Washington, ranked eighth in 3A, got past Mercer Island 42-33 in KingCo 3A/2A as Matt Staudacher scored 14 for the Kangs (15-4, 11-2). Mercer Island (16-5, 10-3) trails LW and Bellevue (16-3, 11-2) by a game for the league lead. The Islanders play at Bellevue Friday night.

-- Zach Taylor's 26 points, four rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks led Cedarcrest (14-5, 10-3) to a 72-61 upset of Cascade Conference-leading King's (16-4, 12-2).

-- Tyler Hasty finished with 18 and Michael Carlson added 15 in Bellevue's 80-64 win over Sammamish. George Valle led the Totems with 16.

-- Caden Rowland (17 points) and Adrian Davis (14) helped carry Mount Rainier past Auburn Riverside. Bridger Harlington led Auburn Riverside with 20.
