Updates on local basketball players in Las Vegas
Posted by Mason Kelley
With both Seattle Rotary and Friends of Hoop in Las Vegas this weekend, I wanted to provide a quick update.
It looks like Jackson's Brett Kingma, Garfield's Tony Wroten Jr. and Rainier Beach's Hikeem Stewart are all building up their stock right now.
Here is what Rivals.com had to say about the local standouts.
Tony Wroten: "Simply put, we didn't see anybody in the gym playing at a higher level than the tall lefty point from the Emerald City."
Brett Kingma: "Athleticism wasn't a problem for Kingma in Friday's blowout victory whether it was tipping in offensive rebounds or getting out in the passing lanes and then finishing in transition.
"He also did all the things that have made Kingma a hot commodity, which included a nice three-point stroke and confidence with the ball in his hands."
Hikeem Stewart: "It doesn't seem like there are enough people talking about the talented off guard from Seattle. A scorer by nature, he easily creates opportunities for himself off the dribble and is a dangerous sniper from deep."
I've caught up with both Kingma and Wroten this summer. I'll try to catch up with Stewart and I'm still waiting to check in with Franklin's Anrio Adams on his busy summer.
