Mountlake Terrace pulls off big baseball upset (Update)

Mountlake Terrace's Andrew Woeck threw his third consecutive shutout, leading the Hawks past Marysville-Pilchuck, 7-0, in the semifinals of the Northwest 4A district tournament at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The Hawks (16-6) advance to play the winner of the 7 p.m. game between Jackson and sixth-ranked Kamiak in Saturday's championship game.
Woeck took a no-hitter into the fifth, struck out 10 and allowed a total of just two hits during the complete-game effort.
Woeck also homered to left field on the first pitch he saw leading off the fourth inning.
The Tomahawks (18-2) will play in a loser-out game against Shorewood at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Kamiak 9, Jackson 7, second semifinal
After being held scoreless for the first four innings, sixth-ranked Kamiak exploded for nine runs over the next two frames to claim a 9-7 victory over Jackson in the semifinals of the Northwest 4A district tournament at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The Knights (18-4) advance to play Mountlake Terrace in the district title game at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Timberwolves (16-6) will play in a loser-out game against Monroe at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Trailing by five in the fifth, Kamiak scored five runs to tie the game. The Knights were then down by two in the bottom of the sixth, but Chris Guinn drove in three with a double off the wall in left field that provided a lead and, eventually, a win after Andrew Groves pitched a scoreless seventh.
