Tony Wroten still out for the season ... until further notice

Posted by Mason Kelley

There has been talk recently that Garfield standout Tony Wroten Jr. will be eligible to play basketball this season.

The junior suffered a knee injury in the Bulldogs football team's season opener and later had surgery to repair his ACL, but talk of a quick return to the basketball court is premature according the school's basketball coach Ed Haskins.

"We're preparing to have a season without him," Haskins said. "It's speculation right now, but we'll see what happens. Hopefully he does. I would hate for a kid to miss his whole junior season."

The 6-foot-5 point guard is the No. 5-rated junior in the country according to ESPN RISE.
