4A all-tournament volleyball team

Below you'll find the Class 4A all-tournament volleyball team, as selected by members of the media covering the event.

I wasn't sure if I was going to post this or not, because there are a couple of things (not players) that I disagree with, but these kids deserve the recognition, so here they are:

Hitters
Alexis Olgard, Mead (MVP)
Brooke Bray, Auburn Riverside
Emily Cotter, Curtis
Kayla Reno, Graham-Kapowsin
Janele Vogt, Lewis & Clark
Kaely Kight, Mead
Setters
Brooklynn Bradbury, Auburn Riverside
Emma Barrington, Mead
Libero
Megan Triggs, Olympia

These players all had outstanding tournaments. I just wish the determination to pick all-tournament teams (for the first time) would have been made before-hand, not in the aftermath, so that the team could have been announced yesterday at the conclusion of the 4A tournament (we will have the 3A and 2A teams tonight).

I also disagree with the format of having 6 hitters, 2 setters and a libero for a total of nine all-tournament players. When we select our Star Times all-area team (which we will do next week), we keep it kind of real with six position players (either 4 hitters and 2 setters or 5 hitters and 1 setter), plus the libero.

But I was out-voted and I guess in a way it's nice to spread the wealth. There are some other players who had great tournaments, too, but these nine stood out. Olgard, the 6-foot-5 senior who has signed with USC, was dominant at times in leading Mead to the title. Brooke Bray of Auburn Riverside and Emily Cotter of Curtis where major factors in the success of their teams, too.

So, congratulations to all.
