Blanchet, Mount Si, Meadowdale advance

Posted by Sandy Ringer

It's on to the quarterfinals for Bishop Blanchet, Mount Si and Meadowdale as all won their first-round matches at the 3A state volleyball tournament.

They are joined by Camas, which will play Mount Si tonight at 8 p.m. (probably more like 9 at this rate). Blanchet and Meadowdale also play at 8.

Auburn Mountainview put up a good fight early against Blanchet, losing the first set 25-23, but the Braves just had too much fire-power and took the next two fairly easily (25-18, 25-13). Mount Si advanced at the expense of Lakes, 3-1.

I'll have updates from the quarterfinals later tonight.

Right now I want to focus on the 4A semifinals. Mead has jumped up 8-1 on Graham-Kapowsin. Auburn Riverside and Curtis won't get started for another 20 minutes or so. Check back later for details.
