WIAA/Seattle Times state athletes of the week
Class 4A
Spencer Graham, Kentridge baseball: Graham went 4 for 5 with three home runs, including a grand slam, and seven runs batted in as the Chargers upset No. 7 Kentlake in their final game.
Annie Dear, Olympia track and field: Dear broke a 23-year-old record by inning the 3,200 meters in 10 minutes, 59.72 seconds at the 44th Shaner Invitational in Tumwater. She was named athlete of the meet.
Class 3A
Matt Boyd, Eastside Catholic baseball: Boyd, a junior, struck out 11 in a three-hit shutout of Bishop Blanchet and went 3 for 3 in the 5-0 victory by the top-ranked Crusaders.
Alyssa Turner, Hudson's Bay track and field: Turner won the 100 hurdles, placed second in the 300 hurdles and anchored the third-place 400 relay at the Greater St. Helens League subdistrict meet.
Class 2A
Clint Simon, Sultan soccer: Simon scored two minutes into overtime to secure a 2-1 win over Bellingham in the Northwest 2A District tournament.
Ashleigh Cox, Chehalis fastpitch: Ashleigh, a sophomore, was 9 for 11 with seven RBI in three games. She was 6 for 6 with two doubles against Hoquiam.
Class 1A
Zack Gehring, Castle Rock baseball: Gehring, a senior, went 10 for 15 with four home runs — two of them grand slams — while driving in 16 runs.
Lea Jansen, Freeman tennis: Lea, a sophomore, won the girls No. 1 singles title at the 63rd Inland Empire Tournament in Spokane. She beat opponents from 4A and 3A schools in the semifinals and finals.

Class 2B
Tyler Henry, Asotin baseball: Henry went 11 for 15 with three home runs and 15 RBI in four games.
Irene Moore, King's West track and field: Moore won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, and tied the school record in the pole vault. Her hurdles times were the second fastest in school history.
Class 1B
No boys nominated.
Dave'y Lumley, Trout Lake/Glenwood track and field: Lumley swept the throwing events at the Mount Adams Invitational in Glenwood, winning the javelin, shot and discus.
The WIAA/Seattle Times State Athletes of the Week are selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association and The Seattle Times from nominations by athletic directors around the state.
