For Mark Haley, it's time to get back to work.

The longtime Rainier Beach High School football coach, who recently had to reapply for his job, learned Friday he will remain the Vikings' coach.

"We're going to go back to business as usual, make a few changes, do a few things a little differently, probably, but it's going to be back to work," Haley said. "It came out like I thought it was going to. It's just too bad we had to go through this whole situation."

The 51-year-old, who graduated from Rainier Beach in 1978, started coaching at the school in 1981 and has been the head coach for more than 19 seasons.

"In a way, it's a relief to not have to worry about what's going on, because the kids were all wondering about what we're going to do, when we're going to get started," Haley said. "It's tougher on them than it was on me. They're trying to get things going, rally as a team and get stuff started for next season."
