Class 4A
Clint Absher, Puyallup basketball: Absher, a junior, had 21 points and five assists in a 68-56 victory at Bethel, then had 24 points and six assists two nights later in a 75-66 overtime win at Graham-Kapowsin.
Courtney Couch, Emerald Ridge bowling: Couch, a senior, competed in the West Central District III bowling tournament and finished first for the individual title, averaging 201 pins.
Class 3A
Blake Johnson, Mercer Island wrestling: Johnson, a senior, pinned both opponents in a double-dual to help the Islanders remain undefeated in KingCo 3A, on Thursday.
Sasha Weber, Timberline basketball: Weber, a senior, averaged 22 points, six rebounds, and four steals in games last week against Wilson, Foss, and Capital.
Class 2A
James Keum, Lindbergh basketball: Keum, a senior, hit six three-pointers to help score 35 points in a come-from-behind win over Highline, 67-59. He scored 31 points after halftime.
Jamie Lange, Sumner basketball: Lange, a freshman, averaged a double-double in three wins for the Spartans. She ended the week with a 26 point, 17 rebound performance against Clover Park.
Class 1A
Yaniv Shier, Seattle Academy basketball: Shier, a junior, averaged 20.3 points and six rebounds in three victories last week. He shot 54 percent from the field and 55 percent from three-point range. Shier scored a career-high 33 points in the victory over Cedar Park Christian.
Carly Meister, Elma basketball: Meister, a senior, had a monster week by averaging 25.5 points and 13.8 rebounds in four games last week against Montesano, Tenino, Rochester, and Forks.
Class 2B
Nate Bisson, Chief Leschi basketball: Bisson, a senior, lead the Warriors in a win over Tacoma Baptist with 17 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Melanie Kuipers, Mount Vernon Christian basketball: Kuipers, a senior, totaled 70 points, 18 rebounds, nine assists, and seven steals last week against Friday Harbor, Concrete, and LaConner.
Class 1B
Jake Straughan, Colton basketball: Straughan, a sophomore, averaged 20 points and seven assists last week in wins against LaCrosse-Washtucna, Tekoa-Oakesdale, and Rosalia.
Julia Owen, Northwest Yeshiva basketball: Owen, a senior, scored 44 points in two games against Seattle Prep and Christian Faith, including eight three-pointers. She also dished out eight assists and had 10 steals.
