State Athletes of the Week for Jan. 16-21, selected by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association from nominations by athletic directors.

Class 4A
Zach LaVine, Bothell basketball: LaVine, a junior, hit a three-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining to beat Jefferson of Portland at the King Holiday Hoopfest, 71-70. He finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and five assists.
Britni Atwell, Heritage gymnastics: Atwell, a junior, placed first in the vault (9.6), beam (9.55) and floor (9.55) and was second on bars (7.8) to win the all-around with a score of 36.5 in a team victory over Mountain View.
Class 3A
Mitch Penner, Kennedy Catholic basketball: Penner, a senior, scored 21 points and grabbed 23 rebounds to help beat Clover Park 61-58 at the Valley Medical Showcase.
Sidney Rielly, Everett basketball: Rielly, a sophomore, had 27 points and 12 boards in a victory over Glacier Peak, 66-52.
Class 2A
Aaron Stroosma, Sedro-Woolley basketball: Stroosma, a senior, scored 21 points and had eight rebounds in the Cubs' 90-63 win over Mount Baker.
Kayla Maki, R.A. Long bowling: Maki, a senior, bowled a season-high 425, with a high game of 233. She led her team to a 1,931 pin total in a win over Fort Vancouver.
Class 1A
Dean Poplawski, Overlake basketball: Poplawski, a senior, had 24 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 59-44 win over Bush.
Katherine Hill, Overlake basketball: The Owls sophomore had 16 points, six steals and three assists in a 39-16 win over Bush.
Class 2B
Brandon Kohler, Reardan basketball: Kohler, a senior, averaged 15 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals in the Indians' past four games.
No girls nominated.
Class 1B Boys
McKenna Walker, Moses Lake Christian basketball: Walker, a freshman, averaged 19.3 points, six rebounds and 5.3 steals in three games.
No boys nominated.
